The Commandant, Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps ( NSCDC ), Commandant of Corps ( CC ) Edenabu Okoro Eweka, acma, cna, has just recently and emphatically, issued a fresh assurance to the Government and good people of Lagos State, on the readiness, of the Command, to ensure adequate protection, of Critical National Assets and Infrastructure ( CNAI ), of the trio tiers of government, in the state, most especially, at this critical time of the year.
The above very proactive assurance was indeed importantly, unearthed, by Deputy Superintendent of Corps ( DSC ) Abolurin Oluwaseun, Civil Defence Public Relations Officer ( CDPRO ), in the state, who was recommended, by the amiable NSCDC, Lagos State Commandant, for the award of the ‘Most Outstanding Officer of the year,’ at TOPPA ( The Outstanding Police and Paramilitary Awards ), Induction and Convention organized, by JCI Lagos Metropolitan, at the Glitz event Centre, Oniru, Lekki, Lagos.
He further stressed, on behalf of the Commandant that new strategies and tactics have been put in place, to block all vulnerabilities and volatilities that may lead to oil pipeline explosions, oil pipeline vandalism , vandalization of telecommunication and power installations , water and railway infrastructure and all other government assets and infrastructure , which remain parts of the economic life – wire, of citizens cum government , in the entire state .
It will also be recalled that the Lagos’ CDPRO, was graciously, honoured, as the ‘Most Outstanding NSCDC PRO, Southwest zone,’ along side colleagues, from other zones, of the federation, at the Strategic Communication ( STRACOMM ) Conference 2022, just recently, held, at the NSCDC, National Headquarters, Abuja.
In the same vein, the National Open University of Nigeria ( NOUN ), Alumnus Association, has unprecedentedly, joined, the statistical numeration, of three reputable and renowned institutions, who have deemed it fit to award the Lagos’ CDPRO, making the honours, three in a row.
However, it is necessary, to also state that the Civil Defence PRO was also joined, by a female colleague, DSC Ajani Yinka, from the armed squad unit, who was also recommended, by the Command’s Management, for the TOPPA award.
Route Commander ( RC ) Mala Jesutomipe, from the Federal Road Safety Corps ( FRSC ), officers of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency ( NDLEA ) and the Nigeria Police Force ( NPF ) were also among those honoured, at the JCI Lagos Metropolitan event.
The Lagos CDPRO further seized, the occasion, to enumerate the mandates of the Corps to the public as well as extol the unparalleled leadership style of the Commandant General ( CG ), NSCDC, CG Ahmed Abubakar Audi, PhD, mni, OFR in rejigging, revamping , repositioning and re – invigorating the Corps , to meet world class standards .
