The immediate past Commissioner of Police, Lagos State Command, AIG Abiodun Alabi, has hailed the support he received from the Lagos State government, media as well as the dedication and commitment exhibited by the rank and file of the command during his leadership period of the Command, National Association of Online Security News Publishers, NAOSNP can report.
Alabi also appreciated the Inspector General of Police, Alkali Usman Baba, for the confidence reposed in him when he appointed him the Commissioner of Police.
The immediate past CP made the remarks during his handover ceremony at the conference hall of the Command on Tuesday.
“This was due largely to the commitment and dedication to duty of officers and men of the command while providing the strategic leadership. Also, the immeasurable support of the Lagos State Government through the Lagos State Security Trust Fund is appreciated in our quest of fighting crime frontally…
“…I equally appreciate members of the fourth estate of the realm for their unwavering support for me and the officers and men of the command and their unshakeable stand for truth and justice at all times. I most sincerely thank the press for this. Their objective reportage and unbiased feedback has helped us to police Lagos State better,” Alabi said.
While giving glory to God for surmounting all the challenges that came his, Alabi regretted that on two occasions, officers were found on the wrong side of weapon use, but are undergoing disciplinary measures for their acts.
He also appreciated the assistance received from sister agencies during his tenure including the military, NSCDC, Immigration, Customs, DSS and Neighborhood Watch.
Newly promoted to the rank of AIG, Alabi, who handed over to CP Idowu Owohunwa, will be resuming at Zone 2 on Friday to supervise policing activities in Lagos and Ogun states.
