The Corps Marshal of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Shehu Mohammed has paid a courtesy visit to the Chief of Staff to the President Federal Republic of Nigeria, Rt. Hon. Femi Gbajabiamila, National Association of Online Security News Publishers, NAOSNP can report.
This visit is to present his ideas to make the roads across the federation safer for every Nigerian. He thanked President Bola Tinubu for appointing him as Corps Marshal and pledged that FRSC under his watch, will work assiduously to reduce carnage on the highways. He assured that the Corps under his leadership would build on the achievements of his predecessors.
During the visit, the Chief of Staff to the President Federal Republic of Nigeria, Rt. Hon. Femi Gbajabiamila extended a warm welcome to the FRSC Corps Marshal, Shehu Mohammed and appreciated him for the courtesy visit at his Office in the Villa assuring him of the administration’s support of his activities.
NAOSNP can report that at his maiden meeting in the FRSC HQ Abuja, the Corps Marshal, FRSC, Shehu Mohammed noted that his administration’s Policy thrust is to reposition the Corps towards ensuring effective road management in the country. He also disclosed that the four policy thrust were focused on repositioning the FRSC operations through digital transformation, Training, Strategic partnership and Stakeholders engagement as well as Discipline and welfare.
Prior to his present appointment, the FRSC Corps Marshal has served the Corps in various capacities as an Accountant with the Kaduna Sector Command and Zonal Accountant in Sokoto from 1992 – 1996. He was also appointed as Head of the Finance Department at the National Headquarters, Abuja (2007 – 2010) and Head of the Internal Audit (Corps Auditor, 2013 -2021) before being appointed as Zonal Commanding Officer in charge of the FCT and Niger State, an office he occupied before his appointment as Corps Marshal.
In further pursuit of academic excellence, the Corps Marshal acquired a BA in Business Administration from the Birmingham City University, UK and Masters in Project Management from Salford University, UK and also a member of the National Institute (Mni) having attended the prestigious National Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies, Kuru, Jos.
Aside from attending various Courses and Training program within and outside the country, Shehu is also a member of various professional bodies such as Associate Member, Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria, Fellow of Internationally recognized Accounting bodies, Associate Member, Chartered Institute of Taxation, Member, Association for Project Managers, UK, Chartered Member, Nigerian Institute of Management and Fellow, Institute of Safety Professionals.
